ABSTRACT
Before describing the quantized radiation process, in which the nucleus de-excites from an initial configuration to a lower excited state or to the ground state, we briefly recall the basic results obtained by solving Maxwell’s equations for the free radiation field. For this we shall start from the electric field configuration generated by an electric dipole (with dipole moment ).
