ABSTRACT
The physical systems simulated by particle models can be mathematically described by a hierarchy of distribution functions (cf. Chapter 1). The mathematical analysis of the systems is performed by truncating the hierarchy by means of some closure assumption, then finding approximate solution to the resulting set of nonlinear equations.
