ABSTRACT

This chapter analyzes the linear sequences, geometric sequences, summations, and patterns in more thorough detail, to study supplemental sequences and patterns and to get acquainted with the Proof By Induction method. It examines the Factorial Pattern in comparison to the Linear and Geometric Sequences and investigates additional Factorial-Type Sequences, Piecewise Sequences and Alternating Sequences. A Linear Sequence is assembled by adding a constant from neighbor to neighbor. A geometric sequence is contrived by multiplying by a constant from term to term. The chapter discusses assorted alternating and piecewise sequences. Alternating sequences can be written in one fragment. However, several piecewise sequences cannot be written in one fragment.
