ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the systematically in two parts: CP in male reproductive diseases and CP in female reproductive diseases. Song and Sutovsky described the protocol to study the interaction of oocyte-derived CP factors with paternal sperm mitochondria from porcine permeabilized spermatozoa co-incubated with cell extracts from oocytes. The investigation of cell-free systems would be advantageous for studying post-fertilization sperm CP as large amounts of oocyte extracts can be incubated with spermatozoa in a single trial, while only one spermatozoon per zygote can be examined employing whole-cell approaches. I/R induced ferroptosis was blocked by inhibiting p38 MAPK activation, indicating that it is induced by OGD/R injury in Sertoli cells which may provide a novel strategy for the cyto-protection in testicular I/R induced cell loss. Wang et al. investigated the global protein expression in response to acute heat stress in the testes of a broiler-type strain of Taiwan country chickens.
