ABSTRACT

Genotypes were highly significantly different within each environment for each attribute, while blocks were significantly different for some of the environments, particularly for Nambour. Suspecting significant differences among a large number of means, the vital step is to choose an appropriate multiple comparison procedure to compare the individual genotype means. The staircase to which a particular genotype belongs is determined by the integer part of the division by the length of the bars, often the lowest one corresponds to 0, the next corresponds to 1, etc. Plant breeders want to know about the response pattern of the genotypes across environments for each attribute. The chapter demonstrates that the full process by calculating the supplemented B-summaries for yield for genotypes 1 to 4 in all environments and displaying the apertures and hollow inner bars for all environments simultaneously.
