ABSTRACT

In any display it may be more helpful to group and label the genotypes in a different way from the original labelling. This chapter looks at eleven to fourteen minor fractions, three major fractions, and one overall comparison of the genotypes by using clustering techniques. It may be advisable to label the 43 genotypes as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and so on, where ABCD are the first four minor fractions making up the first major fraction. GHIJ are the 2nd group of minor fractions. The chapter has chosen to number the groups 1 to 7 and name the subgroups within the groups as x, y, z, in order of median days to flowering. These groups are separated across maturity classes, i.e. Groups 1 and 2 are in maturity class E, Groups 3, 4 and 5 are in maturity class M1, and Groups 6 and 7 are in maturity class M2.
