ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the variability between the two replications within each environment for each of the attributes can be examined by considering the regression of the logarithm of the absolute value of the adjusted difference in the block values for each genotype on the logarithm of the sum of the block values. Adjusted differences are used to eliminate block-to-block differences, i.e. the midmean of the differences has been subtracted from each raw difference before taking the absolute value. All 58 genotypes might be used to provide the scatter points for each regression, or else we can use genotypes 1-43, or genotypes 1-41 and 43, or genotypes 1–40.
