The pool of potential employees may be obtained internally by posting jobs on bulletin boards and in the personnel office. This technique can be utilized especially for promotion from within. The pool of potential employees may be obtained from external sources as follows: Advertising in newspapers or through executive search firms, Utilizing computer management systems, Contacting and placing ads in professional society journals or newsletters, College recruitment, The use of co-op and internship programs. Training opportunities that are presented to white males must also be presented to minorities and women. All employees need to complete a general orientation to the institution and specific training to develop necessary competencies to meet the job skills required for the position. Once retraining or further training and resolving of problems has occurred and the performance standards are still not met, it may be necessary to start the process of corrective action.
