ABSTRACT

There are five basic human needs: physical, safety and security, social, esteem, and self realization. Physical needs include food, clothing, shelter, and survival. Safety needs include physical security and prevention of accident and injuries which cause loss of jobs and loss of the ability to function in a satisfactory manner. Social needs include human companionship, affiliation with individuals and groups, a sense of identity, being with people who care and are concerned. The supervisor and manager have to be aware of human needs in order to be able to carry forth the proper role assigned to supervision. It is the supervisor who helps provide the physical needs by employing the individual which results in financial stability. Everyone, the president of the company or the newest hired employee, experiences frustration in his or her job.
