ABSTRACT

An attitude is a state of mind that indicates certain opinions or beliefs about certain concepts. An opinion is a judgment and it generally reflects an attitude or outlook on life. An opinion is a verbal means of stating reader's attitude. Attitudes are developed over long periods of time as a result of the many cultural forces that shape personality. Supervisors need to understand how they influence their subordinates since their behavior may be the problem rather than the subordinates’ behavior. Job satisfaction and supervisory and management enthusiasm contribute to good morale. Job satisfaction can be determined by use of surveys, levels of absenteeism, tardiness, job turnover, grievances and complaints. Change can be the cause of poor morale since people typically fear change and may resist it. Change may necessitate the elimination of old jobs and the development of new jobs or certainly new specifications for the job.
