ABSTRACT

Special employees are individuals who have personal problems which affect their related activities. These problems may include but not be limited to marital problems, chemical dependency, children, financial problems, and concerns about aging and health. They may also include work stress, poor environment, and improper supervision and management. The best type of supervision is carried out by individuals who motivate others to work in a willing manner. As a result of this, the supervisor works most effectively when assisting the employee instead of when demanding something from the employee. The personal problems of employees may be either real or imagined. However, in either case personal problems result in reduced production and potential dissension within the occupational environment. The supervisor may be the first person a worker will turn to when experiencing a problem. The everyday problems of life at any given time may be overwhelming.
