ABSTRACT

Thyroid diseases are no doubt among the most common endocrine disorders across the globe. Among the numerous studies done on thyroid disorders so far, it has been estimated that about 42 million people suffer from thyroid diseases in India. Thyroid diseases are a bit complex and varied from other diseases in terms of their ease of diagnosis, accessibility of medical/surgical treatment, and the relative visibility that even a small nodule or a swelling of the thyroid offers to the treating physician. Early and prompt diagnosis and treatment remains the cornerstone of management. This chapter highlights the thyroid cancers their classification and management based on NCCN guidelines.
