ABSTRACT

Preoperative evaluation is the most important step before making a plan for patients of head and neck cancer (HNC). A systematic, proper and thorough clinical examination with a record of past medical history is required to find out any debilitating disorders, prior to surgical procedures etc. A proper clinical assessment of the head and neck region is done to document all the details of primary lesion as well as the status of neck. A clinical staging is then documented based on tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) staging called cTNM staging.
