ABSTRACT
In today’s highly competitive manufacturing environment organizations are under constant pressure to lower cost and increase efficiency. Lean tools are an effective way for engineers to drive efficiency within an organization both on and off the manufacturing floor. This chapter explains several tools that an engineer can use without needing to use statistical based formulations or processes. The chapter explains lean philosophy and simple everyday lean tools that will help engineer and their organization become more efficient.
