ABSTRACT

Potentiated sulphonamides are relatively non-toxic in rabbits and diffuse well into body tissues. They are easy to administer, being available as both injectable and oral preparations. They have not been reported as causing enteritis in rabbits. They have a wide range of activity including activity against Toxoplasma spp. and Coccidia spp. Dose rates in rabbits range from 15-30 mg/kg p/o, s/c or i/m q12h. Tissue necrosis may occur with subcutaneous injection of this drug.
