ABSTRACT
There exists data ranging in , where l is a positive integer, and for its analysis no appropriate angular models were available till 2001. However, such data is analysed by suitably manipulating data (Fisher 1993). This chapter mainly discusses construction of semicircular and arc models as a natural manifestation. Such new distributions are called Extemporaneous semicircular/arc models. On the lines of Minh and Farnum (2003), stereographic semicircular Weibull distribution (SSCWBD), stereographic semicircular half logistic distribution (SSCHLD), stereographic semicircular exponentiated inverted Weibull distribution (SSCEIWD), stereographic semicircular new Weibull – Pareto distribution (SSCNWPD), stereographic semicircular exponential distribution (SSCEXPD) and stereographic semicircular gamma distribution (SSCGD) are constructed in this chapter. Further, it is observed that when offsetting is applied on bivariate beta distribution, the resultant model was found to be arc offset beta (AOB) distribution, which is a univariate arc model, and also an arc offset exponential type (AOEXP) model is constructed.
