ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to apply to interactive design even as technologies and platforms change. Interactive patterns in human nature can be seen every day, everywhere on the planet. Optimizing response time to meet the expectations of the user is a fundamental part of good interactive design. Offering intuitive interfaces and opportunities to explore and participate will create an environment that empowers, delights, and enlightens. An interface has two main functions: navigation and content interaction. Either way, the user is having a relationship with a computer-driven device through an interface. Understanding the components that make up an effective interface is fundamental to designing products that are easy for children to access and use. In children’s products, the users can be readers, emerging readers, and non-readers, so interfaces need to match the target audience’s abilities. Interface is a tool for navigation, and kids expect it will be similar each time they visit or play a game.
