ABSTRACT

The production process often involves many people and specific sequential steps to assemble, build, and launch a project. The most important aspect of production is not the production stages themselves, but how to navigate those stages in a way that supports team building, buy-in, and the delivery of something everyone feels good about, including the end users—kids. Keep the team updated on how the design may be evolving, what game designers are learning, and how that might impact their production responsibilities. Navigating production stages with their team so that everyone feels involved, connected, and integral to the product will pay off in all sorts of ways, from increased creativity and good morale to better quality assurance and final product. Designers might ask why understanding team dynamics matters in children’s design. Over and over, it has become obvious that a team that works together well creates an enjoyable experience for everyone, and the end product is something to be proud of.
