ABSTRACT
This chapter recapitulates the advances made in the present monograph and considers extensions to forms of regulation that rely on engram (e.g. neuronal or immunological memory) or anticipation (which both fit naturally in the framework developed in the foregoing chapters). The contrast between classic homeostasis and allostasis is discussed and we emphasise the coherence of the mathematical theory that covers both.
