ABSTRACT

Incorporating reusable software has become much more important and more widely used than in the past. Software reuse is not a trivial issue. Projects that plan to use a significant amount of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software, or any reusable software product, must address COTS/Reuse in considerable detail in their software developmental project (SDP). The Software Development Environment (SDE) may also be called the Software Engineering Environment (SEE). A key management and communications element of the SDE is an Electronic Data Interchange Network (EDIN) for remote access which includes the ability for storage, retrieval and distribution of program related software documentation and work products. Each software development subsystem must have a Software Integration and Test Environment (STE) that supports integration and testing of its SIs as part of its integrated SDE. The Software Development Library Verification Area is owned, maintained and controlled by the integration and testing group.
