ABSTRACT

We now consider the information in protein structures just above the base: that expressed in base-plus (base+) structures. Questions: what are base+ structures and why should we care about them?

It should be clear what base+ structures are not, namely the primary and beyond. The primary is represented by the total sequence while the composition establishes the base. Base+ structures fall in the vast middle: they present more information than the base, but less than the primary. We can think in level diagram terms.
