ABSTRACT

A 35-year-old woman was reviewed by the haematology team in the outpatient department. She had been asked to attend due to difficulties in establishing an appropriate dose of warfarin. The patient’s past medical history included antiphospholipid syndrome that was diagnosed following several episodes of venous thrombolemboli developing. Her only regular prescribed medication was warfarin; her regular doses of this had varied from 2 to 8 mg OD. She worked as a yoga instructor and did not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes.
