ABSTRACT
A 40-year-old woman is admitted to hospital complaining of a painful, swollen right calf. The patient had recently travelled from Sydney to London, which involved more than 28 h of travelling. She was otherwise well, with no known additional risk factors for developing a venous thromboembolism.
