ABSTRACT

Boron-based fuel-rich propellant provides propulsion energy for solid rocket ramjet motors. The higher the energy performance of fuel-rich propellant, the higher the thrust and propulsion of solid rocket motor. The greater the density of the propellant, the higher the mass of the propellant, and the higher the total impulse of the motor, the farther the range of the rocket or missile is. Density and specific impulse are the important parameters used for the investigation of energy performance of the propellant. The main way to improve the energy performance of boron-based fuel-rich propellants is to increase the solid content of the propellant. In the formulation of fuel-rich propellant, adding a certain amount of metal fuel, such as boron powder with high calorific value and large density, is one of the most important ways to improve the energy performance.
