ABSTRACT

It is well understood that the radar theory can assist to bridge the distance between the radar and its image processing. They are vital for different radar applications. This chapter delivers advanced radar signal processing techniques. These involve ambiguity function of radar signals, radar pulse compression waveforms, range compression, azimuth compression and azimuth Matched Filtering. In addition, the radar sensors are listed across this chapter with their different physical characteristics. The role of Doppler theory in radar signal and image mechanism are also demonstrated here. Moreover, image speckles are also addressed here. In fact, the automatic detection of an oil spill is mainly impacted by the radar speckles.
