ABSTRACT

Genetic engineering has enabled amazing new medical breakthroughs. One important genetic engineering technology that enabled the biotech revolution is deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) Sequencing. The DNA fragments sequenced by automated Sanger sequencing instruments have to be re-assembled in order to reconstruct the original sequence to be analyzed. Genetic engineering can also be applied to the development and production of vaccines. Genetic engineering vaccines are different from vaccines prepared by traditional methods. Since the 1980s, genetic engineering technology has been applied to several targets, with the hepatitis B vaccine as the most successful example. Genetic engineering technology can add microorganisms to improve nature’s ability to purify the environment. Genetic engineering may help with the ongoing transformation of green food resources and the improvement of green food quality. Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats gene editing technology has proved very promising in agricultural research.
