ABSTRACT
This chapter provides examples of threat mitigation options available to space system designers to counter the major types of threats: physical/kinetic, electronic, optical, and cyber. Basic threat mitigation approaches are discussed based on the response timeline. These approaches include deception, deterrence, preemption, robustness, recovery, and reconstitution. Specific mitigation types are discussed for each of the major threat types.
