ABSTRACT

The (Li,Na) 2 (Sr,Ca)Al 4 (PO 4 ) 4 (OH) 4 multinary phase (mineral palermoite), which crystallizes in the orthorhombic structure with the lattice parameters a = 1,155.6 ± 0.6, b = 1,584.7 ± 0.7, and c = 731.5 ± 0.4 pm and the calculated and experimental densities of 3.24 and 3.22 g cm−3, respectively (Frondel and Ito 1965; Moore and Araki 1975a) [a = 731, b = 1,579, and c = 1,153 pm and the calculated and experimental densities of 3.20 and 3.22 g cm−3, respectively (Mrose 1953)], is formed in the Al–H–Li–Na–Ca–Sr–O–P system.
