ABSTRACT

The major obstacle in measuring the benefits of Quality Assurance Process Improvement for companies, institutions, military programs, and successful businesses is to invest in Quality Assurance and ensure that processes are implemented and followed. This chapter provides a summary of evidence of business benefits for Quality Assurance improvement. Issues are discussed related to measurement of Quality Assurance performance, and an outline is developed for starting compliant processes. The quality control efforts depend on the training, professional pride, and importance of a particular project to be compliant. By monitoring the accuracy and precision of results, the Quality Assurance program should increase confidence in the reliability of reported results. Effective risk assessment methods will enable healthcare businesses and institutions to be more willing to resolve issues and problems that could occur with medical patients. Medical peer reviews can be used in the process of improving Quality Assurance and safety in healthcare.
