ABSTRACT
While the mathematical theory required in this book has been minimised as much as possible, one cannot follow the design theory without a minimal knowledge of calculus and matrix algebra. This chapter includes a brief overview of the fundamental points needed for the design of experiments. All calculations are done using a computing package. It is advantageous to choose one with statistical capabilities.
