ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the beginning of the age of artificial intelligence and machine learning has created new challenges and opportunities for data analysts, statisticians, mathematicians, econometricians, computer scientists and many others. At the root of these techniques are algorithms and methods for clustering and classifying different types of large datasets, including time series data. The chapter provides information about the data sets and software used in the applications. For most of the data sets, links are provided to the website, as well as to other relevant public websites. Both MATLAB and R software were used to obtain the results for the applications. The chapter also provides links to the website of this book and to other relevant websites where specific scripts to functions can be accessed.
