Environmental and social considerations have always deeply influenced the business environment of India. As a concept, business sustainability has gained momentum at the strategic, managerial and operational levels, which has enabled companies to further widen their business horizons. Market economy focuses on earning money and also stresses on profits. It supports growth, income and jobs, and it is called trade off between economic progress and environmental sustainability. Agriculture plays a vital role in the Indian economy. In view of the predominant position of the agriculture sector, the Government of India during the budget 2014/2015 took a number of steps for sustainable development of agriculture. The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change is the focal point in the Government of India for all environmental issues. It coordinates with all related ministries, such as exports, corporate affairs, finance, commerce, water resources, health, petroleum and natural gas, railways, defence, surface transport, and law.
