ABSTRACT

Parking spaces are hidden national resources in many ways. One way to characterize this resource is to explore its capacity for generating renewable energy. Such benefits of exploring renewable energy must not be passed over as we develop a new transportation network where parking plays an important role. Such an exploration also helps to address the problem of Green House Gases (GHG) – a factor of global climate change in two ways: reducing the fossil fuels use and also promoting electric and autonomous vehicles (trucks and cars) for transporting people and goods. In addition, renewable energy enables consumer to be independent of grid power with reduced monthly energy bills.
