ABSTRACT
The genus Ceropegia belongs to the tribe Ceropegieae of the subfamily Asclepiodoideae of the family Apocynaceae. The genus name Ceropegia is derived from the Greek words keros, which means “wax,” and pege, which means “streams or fountains,” alluding to the fact that many species have waxy flowers.
