ABSTRACT

Chapter 7 first summarizes a variety of ANSYS hyperelastic material models, and then applies the first-order Ogden model to study the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) problem. The Ogden hyperelastic material parameters, which were acquired by curve-fitting the material parameters from the experimental data, are defined in the AAA model. The inner surface of the AAA model was applied with the pressure equal to the blood pressure, and the two ends of the AAA model were constrained in the vertical direction, but allowed radial deformation. After the solution, the obtained stresses and the deformation of AAA look reasonable. Therefore, the developed AAA model can be used to assess the wall's risk of rupture.
