ABSTRACT

Sherrington posture. The Schiff-Sherrington posture shown in this dog is due to a severe spinal cord lesion in the thoracolumbar spinal cord region. The dog had an acute collapse caused by a bleeding hemangiosarcoma in the epaxial muscles (primary origin) (286a) and the floor of the spinal canal, as shown in the postmortem specimen (286b). This was the only site of tumor involvement in this dog. (See also images 311a-c).
