ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the synthesis of polymeric derivatives of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide coenzymes, pyridoxal phosphate and its derivatives, as well as several other coenzymes. Synthesizing polymeric derivatives of coenzymes — low-molecular compounds that make up complex enzymes along with a protein part (apoenzyme) — is of interest in terms of immobilization of certain enzymatic preparations. Obtaining carrier-bound coenzymes also has singular importance for studying the role of various groups in binding to enzymes and in connection with the use of “carrier–coenzyme” systems in purifying substances by affinity chromatography. Attention was paid to obtaining a carrier-bound coenzyme of pyridoxal-5'-phosphate. Whenever this compound is in a state of transfer of the amine group of amino acid, it forms a Schiff base with the amine group of the coenzyme lysine residue.
