ABSTRACT
It is increasingly being recognised that frail older people need perioperative care that is tailored to meet their needs. Orthogeriatric services predominantly aimed at improving care following fractured neck of femur have been around for many years and are typically embedded in modern practice (see p. 356). More recently it has been accepted that such multidisciplinary care also benefits older people undergoing other types of operation.
