ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a closer and more detailed look at what healthcare professionals have to offer in the workplace. It aims to add the more accessible information, the assets healthcare professionals have accumulated over the years, the sort of personal information they might want to put in their curriculum vitae. A child's personality and how it gels with the rest of the family will dictate whether they learn to be quiet or noisy, conforming or rebellious, open or defensive. As well as academic and personal experiences, at all stages in life we are participating in other ways — in sports, the arts, leisure activities, domestic responsibilities, social interaction. If skills may be picked up unconsciously, then knowledge and experience are even more prone to being acquired without our realising. Building on the previous exercises, consider healthcare professionals' life history and what knowledge and experience they have gained at each stage of them life.
