ABSTRACT

This book represents only the beginning of career development, but it is arguably the most important and most often neglected part. There are many books on applying for jobs, writing CVs and going for interviews, and the advice on these skills varies enormously from country to country, year to year and profession to profession. What is discussed in this book does not change. It can provide the foundation for anybody's life, wherever you are and whoever you are, teenager or pensioner, street sweeper or royalty, black or white, male or female, rich or poor. And it is likely to be as applicable to people's lives in 100 years' time as it is today.
