ABSTRACT

Student Success in the Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA) is designed specifically to meet the professional development needs of the PSA candidates as well as the prescribing competencies outlined by the General Medical Council. This chapter presents answers to 13 questions that are related to medicines, surgery, elderly care, paediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, and general practice in the context of drug monitoring. These answers enable the PSA candidates and other students or healthcare professionals to appreciate the principles used in clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care and to develop the skills and knowledge required to conduct an effective clinical review of a patient’s pharmaceutical care.
