ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a case of a 55-year-old male who presents to his general practitioner with a history of cough productive of sputum, on and off for the past few months. He is a long term smoker, with a family history of ‘cancer' and is very anxious that he may have lung cancer. The chapter also presents the description of findings and diagnosis of this case. The chest radiograph shows multiple rounded opacities of variable sizes within the left lung. These are well defined and although there are multiple causes of lung nodules, with the given clinical history, these are likely to be pulmonary metastases. The chapter is vital reading for final year medical students approaching their final OSCE, and also for junior doctors who need a radiology quick reference guide in clinical practice.
