ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the similarities between medical school and business school admission procedures. Some places are content to waive the requirements if sufficient managerial experience can be demonstrated, or if the candidate has done the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) since there is considerable overlap. The application processes for most Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programmes are broadly similar. The key differences are in the need for interviews and the precise nature of the questions set to probe individual interest for and aptitude at the MBA. Choosing to apply to multiple business schools in a bid to either allow chance to decide the choice or to increase the likelihood of acceptance comes at the price of multiple time-consuming forms, which often require extensive essay type responses. Business school, like medical school, is incredibly competitive to enter.
