ABSTRACT
In the last half century there has been a technological revolution in farming methods, which has spread to almost all parts of the world. The developing nations (who in terms of area of land usage and proportion of the population who work on that land, are numerically greatest at risk) suffer most and this is sometimes exacerbated by the less stringent controls and less safe working methods that exist in those countries.
