ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an overview of the current state-of-the-art of automated machine guidance systems, including brief descriptions of their main components. The chapter also presents a summary of the main benefits and challenges associated with the implementation of these technologies, as well as a discussion on how they are expected to impact the traditional role of equipment operators.
