ABSTRACT
This chapter briefly discusses three emerging technologies that will establish the foundation for the future of equipment management. They are civil integrated management systems, intelligent compaction, and autonomous construction equipment. The chapter introduces and makes the reader aware of the current state-of-the-practice as a means to set the stage for understanding future developments as they occur and enter the heavy construction equipment industry.
