ABSTRACT
This chapter provides the processes and procedures for estimating and optimizing construction equipment productivity. It details methods provided by Gates and Scarpa, Peurifoy, and Phelps. These methods are extended by Gransberg to provide an algorithm to optimize equipment package composition and estimate the optimum production rate on a basis of either time or maximizing profit.
