ABSTRACT

The approaches used in the chapters on applications are introduced. First is the design of microCT characterization experiments, and the coverage is aimed primarily at newcomers to this technique. The second is data analysis strategies, that is, how relevant numerical quantities might be extracted for different classes of specimens. The third is data visualization, that is, the presentation of numerical data in a form allowing 2D, 3D, 4D (e.g., 3D spatial data observed over time), and 5D (e.g., a measured quantity combined with temporal evolution over 3D) representation.
