ABSTRACT

This chapter analyses a dataset, which shows four measurements on male Egyptian skulls from five epochs: c 4000 BC; c 3300 BC; c 1850 BC; c 200 BC; and CAD 150. The measurements are: maximum breadth; basibregmatic height; basialiveolar length; and nasal height. An issue to be addressed is whether there is evidence of any change in the skulls over time. A steady change of head shape with time would indicate interbreeding with immigrant populations.
