ABSTRACT

What’s the coolest display medium for computer graphics that you’ve ever seen? We’re all used to beautiful CRT and LCD screens. Graphics look great on film of many sizes, from 35mm and 70mm to IMAX. There are also the computer-controlled lasers used in planetariums and rock concerts, and we’ve seen graphics on surfaces as diverse as sheets of fog and curtains of water, big pieces of stone, birthday cakes, and even the sides of buildings.
